Bordrima is a large village that became a part of the Thenodar kingdom by the early Sundered Order period.

Bordrima means "rim" in Old Maelan.

History

[WIP]

The Houses of Bordrima

Bordrima is governed by three family Houses. The Houses not only govern the town, but are also responsible for a number of commercial buildings (such as Handspor's Mill) as well as the village's defense. Each house is ruled over by an Ealda (p. Ealdan, which means "elder" in Old Maelan), which has always been the male head of the family.

House Holtstrynd

House Holstrynd is the original family, native to the area and originally lived in the west area of Faesholt.

The House is ruled over by Ealda Haeslen during the early Sundered Order period.

Holtstrynd means "forest-kin" in Old Maelan.

House Éastrynd

House Éastrynd is the second oldest family. They are actually a melding of two families: one from the river to the south, and one from the river to the north.

The House is ruled over by Ealda Teagor during the Sundered Order period.

Éastrynd means "river-kin" in Old Maelan.

House Hafocstrynd

House Hafocstrynd is the youngest family. Established by an exiled captain of Clan Haefecas (who was actually the younger son of a previous Helm of Clan Haefecas) who helped to protect the village before the Sundered Order period. He took a wife from the area and over the following generations his family became prominent. Eventually the heir to Hafocstrynd married a daughter of Holtstrynd, and thus Hafocstrynd entered into the lumber business (but their primary duty has always been to help protect the town).

This relation to The Sómstrynd Clans has always been an issue in the eyes of the more traditional families, especially Eastrynd who were driven from their original homes by the rivers by Sómstrynd activity. However, the relation to the ruling family of Haefecas specifically was kept secret and has been forgotten over successive generations, even though the crest of Hafocstrynd is still the crest traditionally worn by the youngest sons of Haefecas Helms.

The House is ruled over by Ealda Handspor during the early Sundered Order period.

Hafocstrynd means "hawk-kin" in Old Maelan.
