Celestial is a relatively unknown language in Jevreth's history. Little to nothing is known of the language outside of a few names.

History

The "Celestial language" is a gift, granted by Driomi, to Men after their creation, so that they could communicate with one another. The Celestial language is what was used in naming the seven Anointed kingdoms. However, the tongue becomes more and more difficult for Men to speak as their corruption permeates over time.

In 325 MA, the Noralar language is created my Man, it is a language that many Men consider easier to speak. Soon after, Maelan also comes into being, an even easier language for the commoners in the countryside.

In 345 MA, four of the seven Anointed kingdoms (Driesefair, Lamniemalos, Nosmalos, and Vishethas) abandon their Celestial names, deeming them "meaningless." This creates what is called The Controversy of Tongues, where tension arises between the Kingdoms that keep their original Celestial names and those that take Noralar ones. This is resolved after Drioloseb scolds the Kingdoms holding on to their Celestial names for being their pride.

After the Controversy of Tongues, the Celestial tongue quickly becomes a dead language.

Known Words

These are the few known words in the Celestial language. Their meanings are unknown:

Celestial is an original language contained in the Lays of Althas: Sundered Order. Little to nothing is known of the language outside of the names of three of the seven Anointed Kingdoms (which are named in Celestial).

History

The "Celestial language" is the heavenly tongue, granted by The One, to the Shesethos of Zidromi since before time's beginning.

At Man's creation in the beginning of time, The One gives Man this language so that they can communicate with one another. The Celestial language is what was used in naming the seven Anointed kingdoms. However, it will not be the only language. In 325 MA, the Noralar language is created my Man.

This is resolved after the Diasair-voseb of this time scolds the Kingdoms holding on to their Celestial names for being prideful.

After the Controversy of Tongues, the Celestial tongue quickly becomes a dead language.
