A Diasair (plural Diasairos) is a prophet chosen by Driomi to give His teachings, complete tasks, and professes the future to the people on Jevreth. A Diasair is always a mortal Man, and sometimes there can be more then one at any one time. There are 3 types of Diasair: Diasair-voseb, Diasair-vil, and Diasair-theni.

Diasair means "Bearer" in Noralar.

Levels of Diasair

Diasair-voseb

Driomi tasks a Diasair-voseb to teach various morals and write scriptures. They are the lowest tier of the Diasair.

Diasair-voseb means "Bearer of Word" in Noralar.

Diasair-vil

Driomi tasks a Diasair-voseb to act and do great things; they are usually given great powers. They are the middle tier of the Diasair.

They are also sometimes given the tasks of the lower tier (the Diasair-voseb) along with their already given tasks.

Diasair-vil means "Bearer of Will" in Noralar.

Diasair-theni

Driomi tasks a Diasair-theni to give prophecy (they are given the great gift to see certain future events). They are the top tier of the Diasair.

They are also sometimes given the tasks of the lower tiers (the Diasair-voseb and Diasair-vil) along with their already given tasks.

Diasair-theni means "Bearer of Time" in Noralar.

Known Diasair

This is a listing of the documented Diasair, and their accomplisments, in Althas's history:

Name Tier Years of Servitude Accomplishments
1. Losdejim
(Noralar: "The Lord is Mighty")
Diasair-theni 305? MA-???
  • Anointed the Kings of the seven future kingdoms.
  • Created the beginning of the Scripture (initial simple teachings and the beginning events of the world up to this point).
  • Helps the seven kings to create their kingdoms (using his visions of what the kingdoms should look like as a guide for how the kings will set up their kingdoms).
2. Drioloseb (Noralar: "The One is Lord")
Diasair-voseb 325? MA - ???
  • Spent the majority of his time in meditation, teaching, and Scripture-creation.
  • Focused hard on creating the majority of the early law/moral codes.
... ... ... ...
#. Losveshi (Noralar: "The Lord is Wise")
Diasair-voseb 458? MA - ???
  • Alive during the War of Kings (the Second War). Narthendar's king had a Night Stone and went mad, declaring war against all the other kingdoms.
  • This Night Stone has a "Dominance of will": he could control and corrupt others that were caught under the darkness that the Night Stone spread. It gave him great power personally as well: stronger and faster.
  • The Diasair received a message from Driomi: The six kingdoms shouldn't attempt a second siege against Narthendar.
  • He tells the other six kingdoms this, but they do not heed the Diasair. They fail in their siege.
#. Losnefeth (Noralar: "The Lord is Mighty")
Diasair-vil 465? MA - ???
  • During the Glorious March of 465 MA, Losnefeth leads the combined forces of the Anointed alongside the remaining Kings (and Enadar). Thrandole is defeated and Thovairozil and Zalothairar destroyed.
#. Losjefi (Noralar: "The Lord Gives")
Diasair-vil

(becomes a Diasair-theni)

465 MA - 472? MA
  • Existed during the era of "The Birth of Magic and the First Chosen."
  • After the First and Second war (the second of which destroyed Narthendar), Driomi sent this Diasair with a special mission: appoint the first of the Chosen.
  • The Chosen were to be champions, people selected for their virtue to be given powers (Magic) to oppose the rising powers of chaos in the world. The first were to be 7 in number, one from each of the seven regions. They took vows of chastity (otherwise their powers could be passed down to their heirs).
  • Losjefi was specifically told not to anoint anyone other than the Chosen with Magic’s power. However, as he traveled through the chaotic lands in the north and saw the suffering, he decided in his own wisdom (which was not divinely-inspired) to give magic to many among the people. He anointed warriors, scholars, and healers. However, not all were noble as he believed and some betrayed his trust and misused their power. These also did not take vows of chastity and through them (many thousands in the northern regions), magic entered into the lines of men.
  • After his sin, Driomi made the prophet roam the land briefly as a Diasair-theni, and he declared to all the kingdoms a conditional (important) prophecy. He tells them that there would eventually come a person, a person of weak frame but strong spirit, that would inherit all three of the divinely appointed offices (Chosen, Anointed, and Magic user) and in her the fate of Magic would be decided. He says this is a conditional prophecy and it will come in a day that Driomi chooses. This will be "Evana" in later years.

#. ??? Diasair-vil ...
  • Exists during the start of the game's timeline
  • "Chooses" Astýran (he becomes a Chosen)
  • If player begins a settlement, then this prophet will have you come to Lamnielmalos to help with "The Snared" (in Chapter 2)

The Lost Doctrines of Losjefi

In 751 MA, Losvilleth claims to have been given a set of “lost doctrines” from an Inestasia, asserting that they were written by Losjefi in his late life exile. The general consensus among Driomi worshippers and followers is that the writings were not written by Losjefi, but by Losvilleth himself. Such a lie is proof to most in Althas that he is not a Diasair.

These doctrines, presented by Losvilleth, declare that:

  • Driomi’s power is in magic and that those who have magic (najiros) have divine power indwelling in them.
  • The First Chosen were not only great najiros, but ascended into divinity by Driomi’s will and through the gift of magic.
  • The doctrines also teach that the najiros, and the Jevrethor especially, have been foreordained by Driomi to take the place of the Anointed as rulers of Althas.

The people who believe in the Losjefi Heresy (as it comes to be known) are known as Vrolovairos.

Losvilleth means “The Lord Wills It” in Noralar.

Lositaleth and Namseshi

In 770 MA, Losvilleth dies after nineteen years of teaching. After his death, the doctrines are declared heretical. Losvilleth's two greatest pupils, Lositaleth and Namseshi, take his place. There is immediate division between the two; two distinct groups emerge:

Lositaleth focuses on expanding Losvilleth’s message. He makes a prophecy that eventually, the Anointed will be judged and overthrown by Driomi’s will and the Najiros and Jevrethor will take their place. Namseshi focuses on the "Ascension of the Chosen", a more minor facet of Losvilleth’s teachings, and constructs the following ideas:

  • The First Chosen were given magic so that they could ascend to godhood to be the co-rulers with Driomi.
  • When Losjefi gave this power to Man, it became possible for all najiros to reach godhood through the power of magic.
  • He denied that Losjefi disobeyed Driomi in giving magic to others.
  • Exalted Jevrethor as those “specially blessed” to lead other najiros to ascension. Man’s ultimate purpose is to be the "gods of Ethesh", just as Driomi is the "God of Zidromi."

Lositaleth becomes more popular overall, but Namseshi draws many Jevrethor and powerful najiros as well.

Lositaleth means "The Lord Exalts" in Noralar and Namseshi means "Man Rises" in Noralar.
