Lore:Helrúna
A Helrúna is a large, aquatic Nomshethair.
Helrúna means "Hellish Monster" in Old Maelan. They are also known as Thairarzil, which means "Terror of Hell" in Noralar. Because of their more recent history in attacking Thenodar (which is particular in their wider spread use of Old Maelan naming conventions), the former is more often used when referring to these creatures.
Habitat
Few can be referenced in history, but those that can are all said to have been found within coastal cliffs or deep beneath the sea.
Known Locations of Helrúna
- Esheliros Shûvrall: Between 852-870 MA, a Helrúna was found on the islands holding the Shûvrall Stone. It was slain by the combined island expeditionary forces from Gorandel, Vishethas and North Narthendar.
- Narthendar: In 336 RK, a Helrúna attacked Múthrand. It was slain by Astýran and his companions.
