Thavairos is the captial city of Anorthile. Once known as Thal Shiath, until the Academy and Temple was built, upon which the mesa itself (and all that sat upon it) kept the Thal Shiath name, and the city itself renamed Thavairos.

Thavairos means "Tall Towers" in Noralar.

Thal Shiath

Thavairos, as well as the layout of the Thal Shiath mesa.

Thal Shiath is the large mesa that can be found in the center of the city. Below is an explanation as to Thal Shiath's layout.

1. Temple Tower: Houses the head scholars of the Temple as well as its head master.
2. Academy Tower: Houses the head scholars of the Academy and its head master.
3. Academy Rotunda: Main library and study area; north wing contains a special collection of writings as well as an area for advanced students to study and debate. Southern wing is the living quarters for the lower ranking scholars and library keepers. The Rotunda itself is a dome, probably six or seven stories tall at its highest point.
4. Temple Main Library: The main library of the temple. The north wing is a lecture hall on the first floor, the second floor is a study area, and the third floor is a special collection of books. The southern wing is the main living quarters for lower ranking scholars and library keepers; It is roughly four stories tall. The main Library Hall is around six stories tall at its highest point (it is a sloped rough, like a medieval catheral). I am thinking there would be a central tower running through all the stories in the center of the Library hall, the stairwell of which would be the primary means of getting from story to story in the Library.
5. Temple Student Hall: The main residence area of students. The courtyard in the center is a small garden with stone benches for reading and relaxing. It is three stories tall.
6. Academy Grand Hall: The Grand Hall is roughly four stories tall, but the bottom floor is 15 feet instead of the usual 10 feet. The bottom floor is composed of four indoor lecture halls. The top three floors are the primary living quarters for the students. The roof of the structure is flat with a parapet running along its edge. The North and South wings are for smaller lessons and debates and also contain studies and work areas for those learning an advanced trade.
7. Main Temple Lecture Theater: The amphitheater near the western edge of the Temple is the main lecture area for Temple lessons. The speaker stands in the open air, but the seating area is roofed over with a curved roof that is sloped on the top but supported by a series of arches underneath.
8. Gate to the Academy and Temple: This is the only entrance into the Academy and Temple area. It is a simple gate guarded by two towers. Behind it is a paved court area.
9. Temple Garden: A garden where students and scholars can meditate and read and is an area where debate is discouraged.
10. The Western Courtyard: A courtyard at the western edge of the Academy and Temple, between the two main Towers. The thin structures joining the Temple and Academy are covered walkways. It is a paved area with a fountain.

Thal Shiath means "Tall Seat" in Noralar.

Rest of the City

• The King's Citadel is to the northeast
• The military headquarters is to the southeast
• The People's Council headquarters (a council where of the people, where their best interests are kept in mind) is to the west.
• Six large watch towers stand between Anorthile and the Feralands north of it.
